Organizing entryway clutter can be quite a challenging task. With lots of different shoes, bags, hats and coats lying around, an entryway bench can go a long way in helping to simplify this task. With this simple bench, that can be made in 15 minutes and costs only 15$ in materials, you can declutter your entryway in minutes.
So just follow this simple step-by-step guide, which was made based on YoutTube video by TheRehabLife and you’ll have your new bench in no time.

Materials Needed

  • 2″x4″ x8ft lumber
  • 2″x8″ x8ft lumber
  • 2 1/2″ construction screws
  • wood stain

Tools Used

  • sanding block
  • drill and impact driver
  • mitre saw

The Entryway Bench Build

Step 1: Measure and cut the wood

Measure
Measure and cut the wood into following sizes.
Seat:

  • two 4ft long pieces from 2″x8″

Supports:

  • four 15 1/2″ long pieces from 2″x4″
  • four 8″ long pieces from 2″x4″

Step 2: Assemble bench legs

Bench supports fit together in the following manner

Predrill holes for screws before screwing together the legs.

Step 3: Lay out seat and position the legs

Lay out seat pieces side by side on a flat surface and make sure they are flush.
Lay out the seat making sure its flush
Center legs on each end of the seat with 1 3/4″ overhang on each side
Center legs on both ends

Step 4: Attach the legs to seat

Use 4 screws for each 2″x8″ to attach the legs
Attach the legs with screws

Step 5: Sand the bench

Sand the bench to remove any sharp edges
Sand the bench

Step 6: Apply wood stain

Use a rag to cover the bench with a wood stain of your choice.
Apply finish to your new bench
