Recently I have been furnishing my home office. Since we moved into our new house we have been using this room for storage. So there is a lot of random stuff and boxes just lying around and no decent way to organize them. To solve this problem I decided to make a shelf out of reclaimed shipping pallets. I got these near a local store where they had been discarded and lying outside.
After dismantling, getting out all nail heads and cleaning up the pallet wood, I was left with a bunch of 1”x3” planks that were 3’ long. The design for this shelf was based on these planks, thus the height and length of the pallet shelf is 3’. You can adjust the dimensions for any size pallet wood you may have, just follow the basic design diagram.
Bellow, you can find the pallet shelf plans and the step-by-step instructions to build one.
- 29 Pallet 1”x3” planks
- Wood stain
- Hand saw or circular saw
- Orbital sander
